Sister Churches

Sister Church relationships formed between churches

of multiple denominations in the US

and The Methodist Church in Cuba

What is it like to have a sister church relationship?

Your life will change and you will have a significant impact. The primary focus and purpose of the sister church relationship is prayer and communication. The only money expected is a $420/yr love offering to help provide a more livable provision for the pastoral family. Most churches like to take occasional trips to Cuba to visit their sister church and strengthen the relationship (some annually and others once every few years). With some churches, God leads them to do even more. Each sister church relationship is different, the common thread among them all is prayer and communication. A member of the US church’s congregation is assigned to the Cuba Ministry Church Coordinator position and communicates with the pastor at the church in Cuba. We will provide all necessary training and support.

What is expected?

  • Prayer

  • A Church Coordinator at the US church is assigned who will communicate with Cuban pastor via email and facilitate the prayer and relationship between the two churches

  • A love offering for the pastoral family (we recommend $420/year)

What is recommended?

  • Occasional trips to Cuba with members of your church to get to know your sister church

  • Occasionally taking or sending down things like bibles, medicines, etc.

What else is possible?

  • Children’s Programming & Marriage strengthening ministries

  • Construction projects

  • Sustainable farming projects or clean water projects

  • Much more!
