A GIFT OF HOPE FOR PASTORS IN CUBA
Prayer and relationship-building are at the heart of Methodists United in Prayer (MUIP), which grew out of the covenant relationship between the Florida Conference of The United Methodist Church (FLUMC) and the Methodist Church in Cuba. Established in 1997, this relationship has fostered prayer, fellowship, and the exchange of people and experiences between the two conferences.
In 2018, Christians United By Amor (CUBA) Ministry was established as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization open to all Christian denominations. This expanded the work beyond the Methodist connection and the state of Florida, inviting a broader community of Christians to support the Methodist Church in Cuba while continuing the shared mission of building relationships, sharing faith, and serving alongside our Cuban brothers and sisters.
As we prepare to celebrate the 30th anniversary of our relationship with the Methodist Church in Cuba in 2027, the Florida Conference of the UMC has offered a $6,000 matching grant to help CUBA Ministry raise funds for unfunded Cuban pastors, whose basic monthly salary is just $8.
This Giving Tuesday, Dec 1, 2026, Will you help us reach our goal? Your donation can go twice as far through this matching opportunity! With your support, we can leverage the FLUMC’s $6,000 grant to raise up to $12,000 toward providing unfunded Cuban pastors with an additional $25–$35 per month in 2027.
Please give today to help sustain the pastors who faithfully serve their congregations and communities amid the tremendous challenges and hardships facing Cuba. Every contribution makes a difference!
